Under: Pay-Per-View Previews
So apparently this Sunday is TNA's Victory Road Pay-Per-View. In all
honesty, until reading about it today, I had no idea. I did miss this
week's Impact due to my DVR not recording it for some reason. But even
with that, TNA should have done a much better job of promoting this
weeks in advance. I had to look up what the card is because I didn't
have a clue what they would be. Most of these matches seem to have very
little, if any, buildup. Lets get on with it...
- Beer Money vs Ink Inc. for the Tag Team Titles: Both teams here are talented and that alone should make for a fairly entertaining match. I don't know what happened between the two teams this week, but last week Ink Inc. seemed to randomly turn heel and challenge Beer Money. Other than the ability of the teams, I have no interest in this match. I can see the ability and popularity of the wrestlers carrying this match. Otherwise, I don't have enough of a reason to car about it.
- Hernandez vs Matt Morgan in a First Blood match.: We have seen these two go at it a bunch of times and it's been OK. I don't have a problem with this match and it seems to be one of the few matches with half decent buildup. That being said, last night I tweeted the link to an article I had just read about working conditions in TNA. If what I read in that article is still going on, I'm not so sure how comfortable I am with this being a first blood match.
- Kazarian vs Max Buck vs Jeremy Buck vs Robbie E in an Ultimate X match for the X Division Title.: This match should be fun and entertaining. These guys are pretty talented and can dazzle the crowd in this type of match. There was some buildup for this match since the last Pay-Per-View but I honestly forgot about it. With Kazarian being part of Fortune and feuding with Immortal, this story kind of gets lost in the shuffle.
- Bully Ray vs Tommy Dreamer.: I'm expecting a lot of brawling in this match. It will be good for fans of the original ECW. This is one of those matches that I had no clue was happening. What is the story here. Granted I missed the last Impact, but are you really effectively selling Pay-Per-Views if people miss one show and have no clue what is happening?
- Angelina and Winter vs Sarita and Rosita for the KO Tag Team titles.: Another match that doesn't have the right buildup. I had forgotten about Winter and the KO Tag Team titles all together. I'm not seeing anything too good coming from this match.
- Sting vs Jeff Hardy for the TNA World title.: This match actually makes a lot of sense and should be pretty good. The former champion gets his rematch. I saw Sting win the title, but unfortunately I have no clue where the story went from there. While this should be a good match, I think the story was started without having enough time to properly build it up for the Pay-Per-View.
- Mr. Anderson vs Rob Van Dam to determine the #1 contender.: This should be a good match and it seems to be the only match that actually involved some thought. The Sting vs Hardy match makes sense, but even a monkey could have come up with that idea. This match actually has a decent buildup. Seeds were planted early on and the story evolved and grew from there. I'm predicting this will be the match of the night.
- Matt Hardy vs AJ Styles.: I couldn't care less about this match. Matt Hardy isn't the same performer he once was and we already got this match on free TV. Even though the end of that match had a swerve, don't expect this match to be any better.
Overall, the hardcore TNA fan might like this Pay-Per-View, but I think they really didn't put much effort into this show. It seems like most of it was thrown together. I plan to have two more blogs at some point this weekend. Watch out for them. Until next time...
