Under: Tough Enough Reviews
Last night was week 8 of Tough Enough. There were some surprises and a really cool visit from the rock. Let's get right to it...
- The Rock's Visit.: Even though I'm not a huge fan of the Rock personally, I thought his visit was great and extremely helpful for the participants. I felt back for Christina, who didn't have the chance to get in the ring with the Rock and have that experience. It was also cool of him to stick around and help with the Skills Challenge. Speaking of the Skills Challenge, AJ was really the only good one. There was some life to his promo, and he was the only one that wasn't overly intense. Most of the contestants were trying to be way too intense and their promos sounded so corny.
- Christina.: I was honestly surprised that she made it back from her injury last week. However, she wasn't able to do what she is actually good at, so she had no shot of saving herself. She is way too nice and bubbly to pull off a promo with no buildup. However, I think she could become a believable face, if she has the proper story. For example, WWE could have a heel Diva "taker Christina under her wing." Christina would be really excited and bubbly, thinking she is getting a great opportunity, only to be turned on. She has a future in the business, but really needs a lot of help to get the ball rolling. In the end, I agreed with her elimination. This late in the game, you can't afford to be sitting out of training.
- AJ.: His wrestling wasn't very good this week, and AJ continued to be stuck in his own head. His promo was very good, and I think Bill was actually shaken by how good it was. Unfortunately, it wasn't good enough to save AJ. I think this is the first time we have seen the winning of the skills challenge be eliminated. AJ really caught some lucky breaks in the last few weeks and may have been gone sooner if those breaks didn't go his way.
- Andy.: I was kind of surprised Andy was in the bottom three. I kind of figured Jeremiah would be down there because of how stiff he was in training. I guess the personality part really hurt Andy. He really showed a lot of passion in the final segment and Austin did a great job of bringing it out of him. I have to say again how good these trainers are. They really do an awesome job of bringing the best out of the contestants. I still think this thing is going to come down to Andy and Luke.
- Luke.: This was a weird week for Luke. He wrestling ability was fine, but he surprisingly flopped on the personality. I figured Luke would be the best at this, but his personality is really corny and kind of annoying. I still think he is one of the best wrestlers there, and he could be great when he has a script.
- Jeremiah.: His personality really came out in the Life Lesson this week. He really took over that bus and had fun, which is really what he does best. For someone who had the least experience, he has now made it to the final three with never being in the bottom three. He has been very impressive, and even thought I see him being eliminated next week, he has a really bright future in the business.
Next week is going to be really intense, as we have the final elimination. Personally, I think it will be Jeremiah. I think he has come a long way, but Luke and Andy are too good and an elimination must be made. It should be a really great episode and I can't wait. Until next time...
